im on a MegaDeth high right now. i saw them FRONT ROW last friday at the verizon theater and i must say, that was another one of those nights i will never forget. dave mustaine is the lead singer of megadeth and hes about 50 years old. this dude can fucking shred. his fingers were moving so fast i thought he might fuck up, but he didnt. they played some of their new shit and of course the classics like symphony of destruction, hangar 18, and peace sells. A tout le monde was a crowd favorite as well as a classic. my little brother came along too and we had so much fun. we were so close to the front speakers that our leg hairs were vibrating! fucking awsome crowd too. there was moshing and crowd surfing the whole time. Best.Concert.Ever. well that is until i see Lamb Of God live.
one thing that stayed on my mind though was how random people were just staring at us while we were waiting to go in. i mean what the fuck. everyone looked at us like zoo animals. we were just there to enjoy a concert. we mean no harm. but ever since i can remember people that were into the metal scene were always looked as outcasts in society. well, society can go fuck itself. i love my music and im not changing. i dont know where everyone got this whole stereotype that metalheads worship the devil or some bullshit. its nothing like that. our music talks about the issues in the world that matter to us. we say shit no one else has the balls to say.
and thats the reason dave mustaine wrote the song peace sells. he's going against all the stereotypes, saying that we are just like you and everyone else. we have jobs. we have families. we have bills to pay. we are NOT fucking devil-worshipping, long hair, lazy, drug addicts. far from it. we are more in touch with our inner conscience than everyone. we speak our opinion and we dont give a fuck.
the whole devil worship thing is blown way the fuck out of proportion. i believe in god. i USED to go church. but the thing is religion is what is fucked up in the world. everyone has an opinion. everyone can pray differently if they want. but if you really read the bible then you would know that Jesus came to rid the world of religion, not enforce it. and what pisses me off is that the real devil are people like that fucker Joel Olsteen. i have never seen in my life someone advertise their own fucking book so much. he might as well just burnthe bible. honestly who gives a fuck what he thinks? i dont want to read about what he thinks scripture means. i want to have my own opinion and not some propaganda preaching pastor tell me what to think. and he's making money off of this! fuck him and his books.
well thats my story of the week. ill try to put some video of concert from my iphone up as soon as i can. in the meant time, enjoy the song and read the lyrics. theyll blow your mind, along with dave's shredding.
